Is this a good plot for a novel?

I am writing my second novel and this is the plot, would you read it? Does it sound interesting? Anything I should add to make it more appealing? Any criticism/ideas are much appreciated!!

"Eden has been dead for 2 weeks. Her body was found in a field on the outskirts of her suburban town in Illinois the night of her best friend’s birthday. The night of the incident, while the police are investigating the scene, they discover a paper map folded in the back pocket of her jeans. While examining the evidence, they realize it is a SCAVENGER HUNT. Little do they know, it is not for a winning prize, but the truth to Eden’s death."
@Secret Passion- It would be through the point of view of either the detective or a friend who gets set on this scavenger hunt accidentally.

@Reagan- That’s the thing… the murderer isn’t leaving the clues. Eden is. She has something to do with her own death and she doesn’t want people to get the wrong idea of it and since she’s dead, she can’t tell anyone what really happened to her, so she leaves clues before her death (which she knew was coming) in hopes of someone to understand after she is killed.
