COD 4 better than Black Ops??!?
I feel like the entire COD gaming community is filled mostly with blind followers of the media who no longer can think for themselves. Why might I say this you ask? Because Black Ops is now the best selling game of all times and it is NOTHING like the game that started the revolutionary online multilayer style that COD 4 established.
There are many reasons why I don’t like Black Ops, but here are the three HUGE problems that cannot be ignored. First off, the game mechanics feel like a B game. Shooting does not feel as smooth as the modern warfare counter parts, and there always seems to be a huge latency lag even when it says your ping is 4 bars. All of the guns spray too much, and there are too many times when you feel you didn’t get a kill due to glitchy behavior of the game. And there are tons of small glitches here and there that just make me cringe. One time I got a gunship, and it wouldn’t let me move it, so I got zero kills.
Secondly. The map design, although good for sub gunning and assault rifles, is not diverse and relatively stupid. The new map pack was a disappointment. Kowloon is great, but the other two just seem dull. And here is the biggest issue. No sniping maps. You can forget about it. Yeah, people snipe in the game, but you can forget about getting any kill streaks off of sniping alone. Treyarch just doesn’t care about snipers. Simple as that. How hard would it be to create maps on a much larger scale without so much clutter everywhere for sub gunners to hide so that sniping can have good long line of sights and not have to worry about being out in the open for all to see? Even on the few maps where there are long sight lines, the cover is horrible, and you can pretty much grantee that you will be killed within a minute of using the spot. They need to learn from infinity ward on how to make a sniper map, because after the new map pack, I don’t think they could if they tried.
Thirdly, the graphics….. I know some people say graphics don’t matter, but it really does help the overall impression a game has on the player. Black Ops just looks too cartoony compared to MW, not to mention the weird texture loads right in mid gameplay that I’m sure we’ve all noticed.
The point is, if COD 4 started this craze for the COD series, then why did the fans let it come to this? This is clearly not as good as the original, so I say we get off this stupid bandwagon that the media has all hyped up, and go back to the best COD game, which is COD 4. Not that MW2 is bad, but the claymores paired with scavenger promote too much camping and the light weight and marathon with tac knife promote these stupid "knifers" who are impossible to shoot because they move too fast and have an inhuman ability to lunge 10 feet in a nano second. And don’t get me started on the model shot guns. So yeah, still good game, but COD 4 is what started it all, and it is still the best COD in my opinion. What do you guys think?
